A Tree-Planting & Mud-Thrashing Adventure!

Calling all nature lovers and off-road enthusiasts! All 4x4s and AWD cars welcome!

Join us for an epic adventure that combines giving back to Mother Nature with some serious mud-slinging fun! We'll be heading to the stunning Kiambicho Hills and Forest in Sagana for a day of:

  • Tree Planting: We will be working with the Kenya Forest Service to plant new trees at Kiambicho Forest and contribute to a greener future.

  • Muddy Mayhem: We conquer the challenging off-road terrain at the hills of Sagana – mud and all-terrain tires recommended! (Spectators welcome!)

  • Camping Under the Stars: Enjoy a night of camaraderie and campfire stories at Jangwani Camp.

Event Highlights:

  • 📅 Date: Saturday to Sunday, 27 - 28, 2024!

  • Duration: 1 day and 1 night
  • 📍Location: Kiambicho Hills and Forest, Sagana, Kenya

  • Accommodation: Camping at Jangwani Camp (fees apply, book in advance). Room accommodation is also available for those who do not wish to camp

  • 😎 Activities: Tree planting, off-road driving (mud challenge!), campfire, optional activities like ziplining and rafting (additional fees may apply)

What to Bring:

  • Planting Essentials: Sturdy shoes (gumboots recommended), gloves (optional)

  • Walking: Hiking boots or sneakers, long pants, hat/cap

  • Weather: Warm fleece or rainproof jacket, snacks, refillable water bottle

  • Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses

  • Camping: Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, camping chairs, table etc. (Get in touch with us on WhatsApp on +254 794 897226 if you have any questions on camping or accommodation.)

  • Vehicle Essentials (for all vehicles): Baofeng bf-888s radios (mandatory), double cylinder portable air compressor (optional-recommended), strong tow rope and two D-shackles (mandatory if you will be offroading on mud), fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, toolbox with essential tools, car jack, wheel spanner, spare tire

Mud Challenge: Mud-terrain or all-terrain tires are recommended for participation in the challenge section.

AWD Cars Welcome: Spectators with highway terrain tires and AWD cars are welcome to spectate mud offroaders, but not join! There will be a different route for them.

Seedling Power: Entry fee is Kes 1,000 per person, free for kids, and will cover your tree seedlings which we shall provide - seedlings, transport of the seedlings and digging of holes will be covered in the fee, but you will plant!

Absolutely, yes. Bring the kids to the event. Its free for kids under 18 years. It is a family-friendly event.

Mara Nomads stickers will be available.

We meet at 6.00 am outside Supreme Court, depart at 5.30 am on Saturday 27th April and proceed to Sagana. We will pick guys who come from Kiambu, Outer Ring Road, Eastlands, Mombasa Road etc. at Del Monte shop that is like a kilometer from Blue Post on the left side of the road. Yes. Just Kes 1,000 per person and free for all kids. The payment covers your seedling, digging of holes, transportation of seedling to planting site etc.

Yes. There is a big grassy, green space for camping. Limited rooms and tents are also available for those without camping equipment or those who do not wish to camp. Meals and drinks are also available at Jangwani Camp restaurant - wide variety of food is available including nyama choma, and all kinds of drinks. So both campers and non-campers will be catered for. Clean washrooms, water etc. are available for campers.

Those wishing to camp can carry: ✅Camping Gear: Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, camping chair (optional) ✅Cooking Gear: Cooking equipment and utensils (plate, cup, utensils), 6kg gas cylinder (if not using Jangwani's facilities), food and drinks ✅Hygiene: Toiletries, headlamp/flashlight, towels (camping and bath) ✅Camp Setup: Tarp or awning or portable gazebo (optional)

Pay to our Mpesa till number 864599, and forward to us the payment message so that we can trace it. There will be event tags for all participants.

Only 4x4s and AWD cars will make it to the tree planting site. The route to the site is offroad, hilly, but navigable, with careful driving. Only well-equipped and capable 4x4s driven by very skilled drivers will participate in the mud section. The rest of the cars that are not 4x4s will be parked and chill at Jangwani Camp enjoying the ambience of the Camp.
