(Approx 9-10 hours of travel) Today's itinerary involves a long-distance journey from Nairobi to Maralal, with stops for breaks and refreshments in Naivasha and Nyahururu. The highlight of the day is a visit to the World's End, Malasso Viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. After exploring Malasso, you will proceed to the campsite in Maralal for the evening, where you will set up camp, enjoy a bonfire, dinner, and social activities. * Please note that the itinerary may be subject to changes based on various factors such as road conditions, weather, and security. ** You can decide to take room accommodation for some little luxury on this day instead of camping, at a small extra cost. Just let us know early.
(Approx 8-10 hours of travel) Wake up early, have breakfast, and prepare for the day's journey. Depart from the campsite and head towards Maralal Town. Enjoy a scenic photo stop at the top of the Kirisia Hills before continuing to Baragoi. Upon arrival, proceed to the campsite, set up your tent, and enjoy a relaxing evening of dinner, conversation, and relaxation. * Please note that because of the conditions of Samburu’s roads, it will be slow-going. Hence why we need early departures to enable us compensate for any slow-goings and any unforeseen issues.
(Approx 10 hours of travel) Wake up early, pack up, and then depart from the campsite. Descend into Suguta Valley with armed rangers for security (they will be with you until you are back at Baragoi), taking in the stunning sunrise and enjoying a quick breakfast. Spend the morning exploring the valley's unique features, including the sand dunes and colorful lakes. Relax during the hottest part of the day under shade. Continue exploring in the afternoon as temperatures cool down. Return to the campsite for dinner, campfire stories, stargazing, and rest. Remember to pack plenty of food, water, and supplies for the day, and stay hydrated in the hot weather. * Please note that the track to Suguta Valley is very challenging, and has suffered damage, but passable. Hence why we need early departures to enable us to compensate for any slow-goings, and any unforeseen issues
(Approx 10 hours of travel) Wake up early and enjoy breakfast amidst the breathtaking sand dunes near Suguta River. Break down camp and pack your belongings for the journey back to Baragoi. As you leave the valley, explore the surrounding geological formations and capture stunning photos. Drive through challenging terrain, including wide, boulder-strewn areas, and ascend the steep escarpment using low-range gears. Arrive at the Baragoi campsite in the evening, enjoy dinner around a campfire, stargaze, and rest for the next day's adventure. *Please note that this itinerary may be adjusted depending on road and security conditions.
(Approx 10 hours of travel) Wake up early and prepare for your return journey to Isiolo. Depart from the campsite and travel through Wamba and Archers Post. Upon arriving in Isiolo, refuel and purchase any necessary supplies. Proceed to the campsite, set up camp, and enjoy a relaxing evening by the campfire, reflecting on the incredible adventures of the expedition. * You can decide to take room accommodation for some little luxury on this day instead of camping, at a small extra cost. Just let us know early.
(Approx 8 hours of travel) Wake up early and prepare for your return journey to Nairobi. After a final briefing and farewell from Mara Nomads, depart from the campsite and begin the journey back via Nanyuki. Take a break in Nanyuki for rest and refreshments before arriving in Nairobi, marking the successful completion of your Suguta Valley Expedition.
The group tour ends on the 6th day from the start day - basically, guys will be free to depart to their various destinations back on the 6th day.
👉🏼👉🏼This is a camping trip. Participants will be camping at all the places we shall be stopping at. Camping gear (tent and mattress) will be provided except sleeping bags and pillows. 👉🏼👉🏼All the campsites have facilities like toilets, showers and water, so they should be relatively basic but comfortable. 👉🏼👉🏼All meals will be prepared by our chef who will accompany the clients. 👉🏼👉🏼Carry: ✅Sleeping bag and pillow ✅Torch ✅Personal stuff ✅personal drinking water ✅Other drinks ✅Snacks ✅Camera ✅Binoculars, if you are an avid bird watcher ✅Passports or National ID for entry formalities ✅Phone chargers ✅Bug repellent ✅Sunglasses ✅Maralal during daytime is hot. Carry appropriate clothing. Carry 1 pair of sandals or open shoes. ✅Maralal on evenings and mornings, is cool. Include a hoodie, sweatpants and shuka for the evening. Carry also 1 pair of closed shoes. A more detailed camping list will be provided to participants. 👉🏼👉🏼This a tough, remote travel Self-drive trip. 👉🏼👉🏼The places we shall be passing and stopping at range from cold and cool (Maralal), to very hot and humid (Baragoi and Isiolo). Carry appropriate clothing.
Since this is a guided Land Cruiser trip, camping equipment (tents and mattresses) will be provided. However clients will be required to come with their own sleeping bags and pillows (if needed). These can be purchased at Decathlon and Carrefour supermarket respectively.
